We visited the winery and had a pleasant time there. We tried different wines and a food platter. Didn’t find it pricey. They have outstandingly friendly stuff, Mrs. Danijela told us everything about the wines, showed us the hotel and amenities and we were pleasantly surprised by her and winery itself. Definitely recommend if you are in Istria!

Stayed 2 days. Our room was excellent and everywhere was clean very smart. The residence offered us 5 glasses of wine per day but my wife doesn't drink and I managed a couple of the two days. Very good if you want to try all their whits red's and sparkling. The personal hour in the Wellness centre is very good but check when they are going to clean the hot tub as it was still cold and warming up during our 2nd days booking which was very disappointing. There are snacks but I was never sure how long they had been left out. Most things were avaible free like coffees and a reasonably full fridge in the room. Modern, contemporary two-storey small hotel situated in the middle of a celebrated working vineyard not far from Brtonigla. Easily accessible by motorway and less than an hour's drive away from a very quiet Pula airport. Only about 10 miles from the Slovenian border, and some rooms have Adriatic coastal views in the distance. No problems with parking as residents have their own area at the back of the property, although there are plenty of other informal spots around the building. We were impressed by the Cattunar's very attractive external design and there has clearly been lots of investment in the general architecture and public areas. The glass and bright marble tiling make it look constantly pristine. Only two sorts of room here; junior suites and deluxe suites. The former seemed sufficient for us but my first impression was that we should have gone bigger. Second impression was that storage space was very limited. Probably ok for a couple days but any longer than that and you needed to be very creative. We're pretty neat and tidy as a rule but here we had stuff in all sorts of unusual places, and more clothes on display than we would normally like. Upsides were that the bed was supremely comfortable, the room was perfectly soundproofed and the air-conditioning was quiet and efficient . No problems with the adjoining bathroom; plenty of space with ample storage on tops, in shelves and in a separate open cabinet. The capacious shower was wet room style with a rainforest head and easy to operate controls. The hairdryer was a grip- operated monster. The suite had a balcony with a great view overlooking the vineyard and right above where the grapes are bought in for pulping. Also within sight was the a recently installed wine-tasting platform which seemed quite popular with local groups at certain times of the day. Breakfast was taken in a dedicated light and airy room near the pool. Plenty of tables inside and even more outside on a patio near the pool. I thought they put on a pretty good buffet-style spread each day and made a concerted effort to change items on a daily basis. All the usual bread, fruit and cheese and meat items were in situ plus a host of interesting sweet and savoury options too. All hot drinks are made to order and there's no problem with refills. Some foodstuff items are left out for snacking during the day and, later, beers and spirits can be ordered and taken away as required. All rooms have minibars so it's easy to liberate a beer in the afternoon and enjoyed it well-chilled in the evening. The pool has a pleasant view overlooking the vineyards and there's plenty of good quality sunbeds, with mattresses, dotted around the garden area. No umbrellas, but ample natural shade from nearby olive trees whilst there is also a bespoke freestanding awning. This is really a great place. Perfectly located in the vineyards of Istria, this newly built hotel (on the foundations of a winery) is really worth a stay. Great room, nicely furnished with a beautiful view. The hotel only offers breakfast, but there are many great options in the nearby villages. The wine is good (the winery is still producing wine), we spent every evening on the balcony enjoying the delicious wines from Cattunar winery. Our special thanks to Alessandro, the host, who is the good soul of the property. He helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations and other good tips. If I had to mention something to improve, it would be the housekeeping. But this is really complaining on a very high level....

Rooms, staff, outdoors, indoors, breakfast,spa, view, ... simply top of the tops. In every aspect you have feeling of VIP treatment. Ideal to take this establishment as base and explore Istra from here. Nice, for sure we will be back. I recomend you to take wine tasting with Deborah.

Having previously stayed in 2019 for two nights, we finally managed to get back to the Wine Residence Cattunar for a five night stay in July. I am delighted to say that it did not disappoint on our second visit. This place has a magical quality when it comes to relaxation. You are made to feel very welcome and due to the size there is a very personal feel to the time spent here. The staff are extremely friendly and professional, helping with restaurant recommendations and bookings, and transportation needs as well. If you are looking for a lovely setting to spend a few days relaxing by the pool and exploring the local countryside then the Wine Residence Cattunar is for you. We travelled as a family of three and stayed in the beautiful La Collina suite. Thanks Alessandro and Karla for another memorable stay and looking forward to our next visit.
